****The July Meeting will be held Wednesday July 8****

Show season is here and we have had a great start to the season! Our first show was a huge success it was nice to see so many new faces; our youth hosted a riding clinic on Memorial Day weekend which was also a success! We learned a lot, lined danced until the cows came home and enjoyed the hot dogs and hamburgers prepared by our Chuck-wagon master, Michael Heidelberg and his Dad, Charlie.

I want to congratulate Miguel Agredano and his team of riders from Hilltop Equestrian Center in winning the first of two “Battle of the Barns” competitions, remember the “enormous” year end trophy will be presented at our annual awards dinner to the barn that accumulates the most points during our show season. You can’t win it if you are not in it!!!

4H members - you can keep track of your points on the website, look under “Points” and scroll down! Keep up the good work and remember you have to ride in at least two out of the three shows to qualify for this year end award!!

Our prizes, sweepstakes awards, and free caps were a hit with everyone! Look for more of the same at the next Open show on July 19th.

As always our Show and Funday fees continue to be the “most bang for your buck” in our area, load your horse in your trailer and come spend the day with us! Our next event is our first Funday, June 14, 2009. A percentage of our proceeds from this event will be donated to the American Quarter Horse Foundation’s “Because of a Horse” program. This program funds therapeutic riding programs throughout the United States that benefit “Equestrians with Disabilities.” It is our hope and dream to be able to bring to Orange County in 2010 a venue where all riders, regardless of abilities can compete and together share their passion of horses.

Keep up the hard work but most importantly enjoy your horse and have fun!

Best regards,

Hal Montanye
President
